You are working with refugees or other traumatized people; you are concerned about their fate, are trying to help and alleviate suffering—an important task which can be energy-sapping or gratifying, or sometimes both at once.

You will also find information on how you can (and must!) protect yourself in order to avoid emotional exhaustion to be able to commit yourself to this important work in the long run without being harmed.
